The Holy Orthodox Metropolis of Ireland announced with great sadness the passing of Archbishop Anastasios of Albania, who peacefully passed away at the age of 95.
Archbishop Anastasios dedicated his life to serving the Church as a clergyman and professor, holding various roles in different countries. His tireless dedication and unwavering commitment to the Orthodox faith had a profound impact on believers worldwide.
In 1992, he was elected Archbishop of Albania and embarked on the monumental task of revitalizing and rebuilding the Orthodox Church in the country. Through faith, love, and numerous sacrifices, he restored the Church, guiding it from despair to spiritual growth, all for the glory of God.
The Holy Orthodox Metropolis of Ireland extends heartfelt prayers for his eternal rest, saying:
“May God grant him a place among the Saints!”
