“True friendship is built on the love and teachings of Christ,” Metropolitan Petru told the 200 young participants during the Divine Liturgy, celebrated on Monday in the opening of the 2024 Meeting of Orthodox Youth in Bessarabia (ITO Bessarabia).
“Let us be united in prayer and good deeds to build a strong society where our faith and values shine,” His Eminence further conveyed.
After the service at the “Saint Basil of Poiana Mărului” Church in Orhei, the youth participated in numerous creative and educational activities.
The events began with a lecture titled “The Gifts of Youth,” presented by Fr. Marius Pîjîn from the Archdiocese of Iași. According to representatives of the Metropolis of Bessarabia, the priest spoke to the young people about “the importance of valuing the gifts of youth in serving God and others.”
Subsequently, the young participants joined workshops for socializing and the Orthodox Youth March. During the march, the youth sang patriotic and church hymns.
