A Hierarchical Divine Liturgy took place on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, in honor of Apostle James at the church named after him in Gomoa Afransi, Central Region of Ghana.
Metropolitan Daniel of Accra led the service with Fathers Alexis and Aidesios by his side.
The church was full of devoted worshippers who gathered to pray to Apostle James and greet their visiting shepherd.
The Church Council of the Orthodox Community warmly welcomed Metropolitan Daniel, appreciating his acceptance of their invitation and acknowledging the blessings of his presence.
“We are proud to be the spiritual children of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria and yours, as we cherish the origins of our Orthodoxy,” expressed the Council members.
Following the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Daniel offered gifts and blessings to the congregation, who in turn presented fruits and rejoiced in singing and dancing praises to God accompanied by traditional Ghanaian instruments.
Metropolitan Daniel also took the time to inspect the church grounds, engaging in discussions with the parish priest and Parish Council on matters of importance and strategies to enhance the Orthodox community in the region.
