On October 15, the Orthodox Church commemorates Saints Lucian, Sabinus, and Varsos.
Saint Lucian of Antioch, originally from Samosata, devoted his life to studying and translating the Holy Scriptures. He was martyred through starvation during the persecution of Diocletian.
Saint Sabinus, who served as a bishop, chose to live a monastic life after feeling overwhelmed by his responsibilities, dedicating himself to asceticism until the end of his days.
Saint Varsos, the Bishop of Edessa, bravely opposed Arianism and was exiled, eventually passing away in a fortress near Algiers.
