Today, our Holy Church honors the memory of Saint Martyr Myron, who lived in Achaia during the reign of Roman Emperor Decius from 249 to 251 AD.
Saint Myron was arrested and endured brutal torture due to his unwavering faith and opposition to the impious Governor Antipater, who sought to eliminate Christianity from the region.
Through the grace of Christ and the Virgin Mary, Saint Myron was miraculously saved, leading many non-believers to convert to the true faith.
Ultimately, Saint Myron was taken in chains to Cyzikus (Kizika) where he faced a gruesome martyrdom, being beheaded on the orders of the local ruler.
