The Church celebrates the memory of Great Martyrs Sergius and Bacchus, as well as Hieromartyr Eusebius the Priest and Martyr Felix today.
Great Martyrs Sergius and Bacchus originated from Rome and lived during the rule of Emperor Maximian (284-305). They held prominent positions in the Roman army. Upon being accused of embracing Christianity, they openly professed their faith in Jesus Christ.
Despite being stripped of their military honors, publicly shamed, and subjected to torture, they remained unwavering in their belief and dedicated to Christ. As a result, they were granted the crown of martyrdom.
