Patriarch Kirill of Moscow has sent a congratulatory letter to the newly appointed Archbishop Ioannis of Albania.
In his letter, Patriarch Kirill emphasizes the important and solemn task given to the new Primate as the successor of Archbishop Anastasios.
The letter from Patriarch Kirill of Moscow to Archbishop John of Albania reads:
“By the will of the Holy Synod and Divine Providence, you have been chosen to lead the martyric Church, following in the footsteps of the late and blessed Archbishop Anastasios.
This significant and weighty responsibility requires unwavering commitment to maintaining the unity of the Church, defending the purity of the faith, and upholding its canonical principles—a task that, in these challenging times, demands exceptional wisdom and courage.
I pray for you and sincerely hope that the grace of the Holy Spirit strengthens you in both mind and body, so that through your efforts, the message of the Lord may prosper and be glorified.
May your time as Primate in the historic land of Albania be filled with blessings and peace. May our great High Priest, Jesus Christ, increase the faithful flock under your guidance and grant His devoted followers the gift of eternal salvation.”
