Amid growing speculation about a potential peace agreement between Saudi Arabia and Israel, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman made a symbolic appearance in Jerusalem on Monday — in the form of a billboard.
Larger-than-life posters depicting Prince Mohammed shaking hands with U.S. President Donald Trump with an Israeli flag in the background were unveiled in Jerusalem and other cities, bearing the message, “Israel is Ready.”
The billboards also popped up in various locations in Tel Aviv and on mobile trucks near Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s meetings in Washington, D.C. These billboards are part of a campaign by the Coalition for Regional Security, a group of Israeli security, diplomacy, and business leaders formed after Oct. 7 to advocate for a regional defense alliance against Iran and its allies.
“This marks the first time that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has appeared on billboards in Israel, making it a historic moment,” said Lianne Pollak-David, a founding partner of the Coalition for Regional Security and former advisor in Israel’s National Security Council.
The group is urging the American president and the de facto Saudi leader to “change the course of history.”
“Normalization between Saudi Arabia and Israel will revolutionize the Middle East, ensuring our collective security against Iranian threats and regional instability. It’s time for moderate forces to unite,” the group stated. “A new regional order is needed. The time for action is now. We are prepared. Israel is prepared.”
Referring to a recent poll conducted in collaboration with the Institute for National Security Studies in Tel Aviv, the group revealed that 72.5% of Israelis support a U.S.-led proposal that includes hostage returns, Saudi normalization, a regional security coalition against Iran, and a “path to Palestinian separation.” The group advocates for a gradual separation of Palestinians from Israel, rather than an immediate establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
“Israel is prepared to pursue a gradual and secure path towards Palestinian separation as part of a larger regional agreement,” Pollak-David emphasized.
The campaign coincides with Netanyahu’s upcoming meeting with Trump, who sees a Saudi-Israel normalization agreement as a natural progression of the Abraham Accords established between Israel and Arab nations during his first term.
