Under the blessing and guidance of Metropolitan Polycarp of Italy, innovative “smart” signs have been introduced at parish entrances to provide immediate access to historical, liturgical, and practical information about the parishes.
These signs are in line with the principles of sustainable mobility, featuring advanced electronic systems powered by artificial intelligence. They are specifically designed to ensure accessibility for individuals with visual or hearing impairments, making the available information inclusive and user-friendly.
The first smart sign has been installed at the Parish of St. James in Florence by Archimandrite Nikolaos. In a special demonstration, he explained to parishioners how the sign operates, showcasing its functionality and accessibility features.
This initiative represents a significant step toward utilizing technology to enhance communication, inclusivity, and connection within the Orthodox Christian community.
