On Sunday, 5th January 2025, at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, a Divine Liturgy was celebrated, presided over by Archbishop Aristarchos of Constantina.
After the Divine Liturgy, the annual Memorial Service for the Holy Sepulchre Fathers took place, with Patriarch of Jerusalem, Theophilos, leading the service, assisted by the Holy Sepulchre Archbishops, Archimandrites, Priests, and Deacons, as well as the newly ordained Deacon and Byzantine cantor, Eustathios.
The chanting was delivered by Hierodeacon Simeon and the students of the Patriarchal School of Sion. Also present was the Consul General of Greece in Jerusalem, Dimitrios Angelosopoulos.
During this Memorial Service, intercessory prayers were offered for the eternal memory and repose of the souls of the deceased, blessed Patriarchs of Jerusalem, and the Holy Sepulchre Archbishops, Hieromonk Priests, Hierodeacons, Monks, and Nuns who have departed in the Lord from all generations.
Following the Memorial Service, the “makaria” (reception of the memorial service) took place in the Patriarchal Hall.
