During the visit of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, to Turkey on Monday, April 22, 2024, Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi and Deacon Oikoumenios represented Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and the Ecumenical Patriarchate at the reception held in honor of the President at the Summer Residence of the German Embassy in Therapia.
Among the distinguished guests present were Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, representing President Abdullah Gül, former President of the Republic of Turkey, Ekrem İmamoğlu, Mayor of the city, ambassadors from various countries, clergymen from different denominations, and other guests.
