The Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate continued its discussions today with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presiding over the meeting. The agenda was finalized, and important decisions were made.
During the meeting, the Synod expressed deep concern and provided pastoral support for the ongoing seismic activity in Santorini and the surrounding islands. The Synod extended its sympathy and solidarity to the local Church and residents of the affected region, sending a formal message of encouragement to Metropolitan Amfilochios of Thira, Amorgos, and the Islands.
At the end of the session, Archbishop Sotirios of Canada, speaking on behalf of the departing members of the Synod, exchanged formal addresses with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, marking the conclusion of the current synodal period.
