Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew welcomed Governor Atakan Atasoy of Beyoğlu (Pera) and his wife to the Phanar on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
A luncheon was hosted in honor of Governor Atasoy at the Marasleion School by the Patriarch, where the two leaders had a friendly meeting and conversation.
Governor Atasoy had the opportunity to explore the Patriarchal House during his visit and learn about the history and current initiatives of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
Notably, a month prior to this visit, Patriarch Bartholomew had personally congratulated Governor Atasoy on his recent appointment during a visit to the Governor’s office.
