The Resurrection of the Lord was celebrated with great solemnity at the Centre of Orthodoxy, following long-standing ecclesiastical traditions.
Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew led the Divine Liturgy of the Resurrection in the courtyard of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, accompanied by several Metropolitans and clergy members. In his address to the congregation, he emphasized the importance of Easter celebration and provided spiritual guidance, especially for the youth.
The Patriarch expressed his wishes for peace, justice, and reconciliation in the Middle East and Ukraine. He also endorsed the “Nash Vychod – Our Exodus” initiative, highlighting its significance in promoting peace through the exchange of prisoners of war between Russia and Ukraine. This initiative, taking place during Easter, symbolizes the connection between divine peace and global peace.
During his message, the Ecumenical Patriarch stated:
“Blessed People of God,
Christ is Risen!
From the heart of Orthodoxy, we send a message of love, joy, and hope to all believers. The Resurrection of Christ signifies victory over death and embodies the truth of humanity and creation. It offers the promise of redemption and the assurance that love will triumph over evil.
Living in the light of the Resurrection means embracing change, truth, and love. It reminds us to prioritize community, solidarity, and peace over self-interest. The Resurrection empowers us to live authentically and to seek unity with God.
We share this message with our youth, encouraging them to uphold our spiritual values and work towards a world of peace and justice. The Resurrection is a timeless celebration that transcends rationalizations and modernizations. We celebrate the Risen Christ and His transformative gifts.
We pray for those in conflict zones, particularly in the Middle East and Ukraine, and support initiatives like “Nash Vychod – Our Exodus” for peace and reconciliation. May the power of the Resurrection inspire us to seek truth, freedom, and hope in all aspects of our lives.
With unwavering faith, we proclaim, “Christ is Risen!” and trust that with Christ by our side, we can overcome any challenge.
Christ is Risen!
The Resurrection service was attended by distinguished guests and pilgrims from around the world, joining local believers in this sacred celebration.
