Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew was honored with the title of honorary citizen of Pallini, a suburb in the Greater Athens Area of East Attica, Greece, on the evening of Thursday, September 26, 2024. During the ceremony, he received the golden key to the city as a symbol of trust and respect.
To mark the occasion, the Patriarch planted an olive tree outside the city hall, symbolizing peace and unity. A plaque was also unveiled to recognize Imbros Street in honor of Bartholomew’s ancestral homeland.
