Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew recently mentioned his meeting with PASOK President and leader of the main opposition party, Nikos Androulakis, during the challenging times faced by Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana and All Albania.
The Ecumenical Patriarch expressed gratitude to the Greek authorities for swiftly transferring Archbishop Anastasios from Tirana to Athens, where he is currently hospitalized. He also prayed for God to restore his health and enable him to continue his pastoral ministry in Albania.
Archbishop of Albania’s Medical State
Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana and All Albania is in critical condition, as stated by his attending physicians at Evangelismos Hospital. His health deteriorated after being hospitalized in Tirana due to a viral infection, resulting in gastrorrhagia. He was air evacuated to Evangelismos Hospital with the assistance of the Hellenic Air Force and is currently receiving medical care.
