During his second day in Athens, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew visited the Apostoliki Diakonia Boarding School in the Municipality of Agia Varvara. This visit is part of his official schedule in Greece, highlighting the Orthodox Church’s active involvement in working with local communities and educational institutions.
The Patriarch was warmly welcomed by Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, along with other dignitaries such as the Mayor of Agia Varvara, Lambros Michos, Deputy Minister of Education and Religious Affairs Zeta Makris, and Secretary General for Religious Affairs Giorgos Kalantzis. The discussions during the meeting focused on education, social welfare, and the important role of the Church in supporting the younger generation.
The visit concluded with blessings and well wishes for the continued success of the Boarding School’s mission. Both Church leaders and local officials reiterated their commitment to enhancing cooperation for the benefit of society.
