Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew participated in a special event on Sunday, 15 December 2024, at the Venerable Patriarchal Church of Saint George. After the Divine Liturgy, he joined in prayer during the Baptism of the grandson of Mr Theodoros Angelopoulos, the Archon Grand Logothetis and Grand Benefactor of the Patriarchate. The Baptism was officiated by Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, and the child was given the name Theodoros. The grandfather of the child served as the God Father, and many relatives and friends from Greece were in attendance. Following the sacrament, Patriarch Bartholomew shared words of wisdom and congratulatory wishes with the family in the Patriarchal Throne Room before hosting a celebratory reception on the premises.
The Patriarch’s Visit to the Amateur Theatre Group’s Christmas Celebration
Upon his return from Abu Dhabi, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew visited the headquarters of the Amateur Theatre Group in the Community of the Twelve Apostles of Feriköy. He attended the children’s Christmas Celebration organized by the Group in partnership with the Ecclesiastical Committee of the Community. The Patriarch blessed the children of the Greek Orthodox community of Constantinople, interacted with them, and commended their parents for instilling them with the values of the Church and Greek Orthodoxy. He also distributed gifts and sweets from his trip to Abu Dhabi during the festive event.
