Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew joined a formal reception at the Sismanoglio Megaron in Constantinople to celebrate Greek Independence Day. The historic building houses the General Consulate of Greece.
The reception, hosted by Mr. Konstantinos Koutras, Ambassador and Consul General of Greece, took place on the evening of March 25. Patriarch Bartholomew conveyed congratulatory wishes from the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Greek Orthodox community to Mr. Koutras, emphasizing unity and shared heritage during the national celebration.
Earlier that day, the Patriarchate was represented at the Consulate by the Grand Protosyncellus, Archimandrite Grigorios. He led the official Doxology and memorial service (Trisagion) in honor of the day.
