The Church honors the memory of the Holy 165 Fathers of the Fifth Ecumenical Council, which was convened by Emperor Justinian I in Constantinople in 535. This council denounced monophysitism and rejected the teachings of Origen that caused division among Christians.
Additionally, the Church commemorates the righteous Olympias the Deaconess of Constantinople, who devoted herself to charitable work after her husband’s passing. She supported Archbishop St. John Chrysostom and distributed her wealth to the needy, poor, orphans, and widows until her death.
Furthermore, the Church solemnly observes the Dormition of the righteous Anna, the mother of the Virgin Mary. Anna, who was initially barren, dedicated her daughter Mary to the Lord at a young age and spent her life in prayer and fasting. She passed away at the age of 70, becoming the mother of the blessed Virgin Mary, who gave birth to Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.
