I felt so connected to my roots. I loved it. I wanted to come back.”
Bick, who moved to Israel with her husband, said she felt the same way. “I just feel so at home here,” she said. “I want to raise my kids here, and I want them to grow up as Israeli citizens.”
For Turell, who is engaged to an Israeli woman, the move also represented a personal milestone. “I’m not just coming here for basketball,” he said. “I’m coming here for a life.”
Despite the challenges of playing during a war, all three said they were grateful for the opportunity to live and work in Israel.
“It’s a privilege to be able to play the sport that I love in this country,” Dallet said. “Every day I get to wake up and play soccer, and that’s an amazing thing.”
For Bick, the experience has been equally rewarding. “I feel like I’m living my dream,” she said. “I’m so grateful for this opportunity.”
And Turell, who now plays for Ironi Ness Ziona, said he was excited for what the future holds. “I’m just really excited to be here,” he said. “I’m excited for the journey.”
