Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia led a Divine Liturgy alongside Archbishop Stefan of Ohrid on Monday, October 14, 2024, at the Duni Monastery in the Niš province.
The Divine Liturgy was attended by Metropolitan Petar of Prespa and Pelagonia, Metropolitan Timotej of Debar-Kičevo, Metropolitan Irinej of Bačka, Metropolitan Arsenije of Niš, Bishop Kliment of Heraclea, and Bishop Nikon.
“Wherever the power and love of God are revealed, we witness the miracle of God. All of creation is a manifestation of God’s power and love, leading us to know Him and recognize His greatness,” Patriarch Porfirije emphasized after the Gospel reading.
Following this, Archbishop Stefan of Ohrid expressed gratitude for the invitation to participate in the monastery’s celebration and presented Metropolitan Arsenije with an icon of the Virgin Mary.
In honor of the visit, Metropolitan Arsenije gifted Patriarch Porfirije and Archbishop Stefan icons of the Most Holy Theotokos, specially painted for the occasion.
Addressing the Patriarch and Archbishop, Metropolitan Arsenije recalled the discussions held two and a half years ago at the monastery, which led to the establishment of unity between the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Ohrid Archbishopric, bringing joy to both the Serbian and Macedonian peoples.
In response, Patriarch Porfirije expressed gratitude for the unity achieved and emphasized the importance of the miracle of unity among believers.
