The hall of the “Exarch Stefan” at the Sofia Holy Metropolis was filled with festive excitement and anticipation on the evening of December 17th as it hosted a children’s Christmas concert dedicated to the Nativity of Christ.
Organized by the Sofia Holy Metropolis for the third consecutive year with the blessing of Metropolitan Daniel of Sofia and Bulgarian, the event featured children’s choirs, students studying “Religion – Orthodoxy” in general education schools, and Christian children attending Sunday school at churches within the diocese of the Sofia Eparchy.
Attendees included Patriarch Daniel, Bishop Pachomius of Branik, Bishop Meletius of Znepol, Archimandrite Nikodim, Sofia clergy, parents, guests, teachers, and children, filling the spacious hall of the Metropolis.
The program showcased performances by various choirs and Sunday school groups, including the Sofia Theological Seminary choir, “Bodra Smyana” singers, Children’s Church Choir “St. Seraphim of Sofia,” and students from different schools and Sunday schools within the diocese.
The concert featured Christmas carols, poetry recitations, instrumental performances, and church hymns, creating a joyous atmosphere for all in attendance. The evening concluded with folk performances and well-wishes from Patriarch Daniel to the children.
All participants received gifts prepared by the Sofia Holy Metropolis, with the support of the “Avanti” chain of stores. The event was hosted by actress Yoana Racheva and organized by a team from the Sofia Metropolis in collaboration with the “Spiritual-Educational” Department.
