General Dimitrios Choupis, Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff, visited the Arab Republic of Egypt on August 20-21, 2024, at the invitation of Lieutenant General Ahmed Fathi Ibrahim Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces.
During his visit on August 20, General Choupis visited the Holy Patriarchal Monastery of St. George in Cairo, where he met with Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa. They discussed various topics, with a focus on the Patriarchate’s pastoral and missionary efforts across Africa.
Additionally, General Choupis had discussions with the Greek Ambassador to Egypt, Nikolaos Papageorgiou, concerning the Eastern Mediterranean developments and the strong relations between Greece and Egypt.
