On the morning of October 8, 2024, the faithful community of the Patriarchate of Alexandria gathered to offer thanksgiving and praise to the Lord for the fruitful pastoral and missionary work of Pope and Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa. This marked the 20th anniversary of his enthronement on the revered Patriarchal Throne of Saint Mark.
The Patriarch began the day by meeting with bishops from across Africa, expressing his gratitude for their love and respect. He then addressed the clergy, partners in missionary work, and praised their dedication to the ancient Church of Alexandria and the people of Africa.
Following this, the Patriarch met with the Brotherhood of the Order of “Saint Mark,” where their efforts were acknowledged. The Patriarch also thanked the Orthodox Christian Mission Center for their contribution to missionary work, along with Archbishop Elpidophoros of America.
The day continued with a meeting with members of the spiritual movement Agape Hellas, where collaboration opportunities were discussed. The Patriarch expressed his gratitude to Metropolitan Ignatios of Demetrias for initiating the partnership.
The Patriarch emphasized the importance of spreading the message of Christ through collaborative efforts and expressed optimism for the future of their joint mission.
