During its first meeting with Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria at the helm, the Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church of Bulgaria made important decisions regarding the church’s administration.
The Holy Synod announced the appointment of Bishop Pahomios of Vranitsa as the first auxiliary bishop to support the new Patriarch of Bulgaria. Bishop Pahomios will begin his new responsibilities immediately, enhancing the spiritual and administrative guidance of the Metropolis of Sofia.
Furthermore, Archimandrite Meletios (Spasov), who has been serving as the deputy director of the Sofia Theological Seminary, was promoted to the position of director. Archimandrite Meletios will officially assume his new role on July 9, 2024.
Lastly, in response to Patriarch Daniel’s request, the Holy Synod confirmed the appointment of Hieromonk Ioannis (Peshev) as the Protosyncellus of the Holy Metropolis of Sofia.
