During the opening ceremony of the school year, Patriarchal Auxiliary Bishop Paisie of Sinaia emphasized the importance of students taking responsibility for their education. He highlighted the efforts of educators, parents, and the government, but stressed that students play a crucial role in their own learning.
Bishop Paisie reminded the students that despite any challenges they may face, such as financial difficulties or lack of support, it is essential to prioritize education. He acknowledged the sacrifices parents make to ensure their children receive a good education and encouraged students to appreciate and make the most of these opportunities.
The bishop also cautioned against the belief in easy success, urging students to work hard, persevere, and seek guidance from trusted adults. He emphasized the value of learning from failures and the importance of continuous effort in achieving one’s goals.
Furthermore, Bishop Paisie encouraged students to ask for help when needed and to seek support from adults they trust. He emphasized the role of adults in guiding and assisting students in their academic journey.
At the end of the ceremony, the students received gifts from Patriarch Daniel, including a prayer book with images from the National Cathedral.
Director of the seminary, Father Marian Colțan, praised the school’s teaching staff for their intellectual and moral excellence. He highlighted the opportunities available to students to pursue a variety of academic paths, not limited to theology, but also including music, journalism, and history.
During my four years of study, I have noticed that everyone ultimately follows their calling, and it is crucial to pursue this path to discover their true purpose in life.
This year, the “Metropolitan Nifon” Theological Seminary in Bucharest has a total of 408 students enrolled in the Theology section and the Post-Secondary Sanitary Profile.
