On Sunday, December 8, Bishop Maximos of Melitene presided over the Greek Orthodox English-speaking Community of Chester, dedicated to Saint Barbara, the Great Martyr, with all due reverence.
The local Church warmly welcomed the Bishop, and Father Ioan Petkov, the Parish Priest, along with Protopresbyter Pancratios Sanders, co-celebrated the service. Bishop Maximos delivered a sermon during the Divine Liturgy, conveying the blessings and fatherly love of Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain to the congregation.
Following the Divine Liturgy, a festive meal was served in celebration of the feast of St. Barbara, which was recently commemorated by the local community. The event was filled with spiritual joy and fraternal love as all the pilgrims and faithful participated.
