On Saturday, June 22, 2024, Bishop Maximos of Melitene conducted the ordination of Deacon Alexander Gaman to the priesthood at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Hastings, Southern England. The ordination ceremony included the Orthros and the Divine Liturgy, with the participation of clergy from the Holy Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain and the Patriarchate of Romania.
During the service, Bishop Maximos spoke to the newly ordained Deacon, explaining the essential qualities and responsibilities of Presbyters in the Church. He also conveyed Archbishop Nikitas’s heartfelt wishes to Deacon Alexander and the congregation.
Following the ordination, a luncheon was hosted in the church hall, providing a warm and communal conclusion to the day’s significant spiritual event.
