On Sunday, August 18, 2024, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew joined the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at the Metropolitan Church of Imbros to celebrate the feast of the Saints of Imbros and Tenedos. The service was led by Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Patras, with other Metropolitans and Bishop Parthenios of Antania in attendance, along with clergy, monks, nuns, Archons Offikalioi, and faithful believers.
After the service, Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Patras was warmly welcomed by the Metropolitan of Imbros and Tenedos, who expressed gratitude for bringing a fragment of the holy relic of Saint Gervasios of Patras. The Ecumenical Patriarch also addressed the congregation, emphasizing the blessing of the relic’s presence on the island.
Later, a luncheon was hosted in honor of Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Patras, followed by a visit to a museum dedicated to the Ecumenical Patriarch’s life and ministry. An evening cultural event, featuring artwork and a documentary, was attended by the Patriarch, Metropolitans, clergy, and a large audience.
