The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew spoke about the improving relations between Greece and Turkey during his speech at the Community Hall of the Holy Church of the Archangels in Mega Revma (Arnavutköy).
In his speech, the Patriarch commended the efforts of both governments in fostering closer ties between the two nations, highlighting the importance of cooperation, especially during times of global crisis. He expressed gratitude to all those involved in promoting this positive reconciliation between two neighboring, friendly, and allied countries with shared values.
He emphasized the significance of building friendship and collaboration, particularly in today’s challenging international circumstances. The Patriarch recognized the President of the Republic of Turkey and the Prime Minister of Greece as the leaders spearheading this commendable initiative, with both nations following their example with satisfaction. He stressed that they believe such reconciliation and cooperation will bring positive outcomes for both countries and the entire region, ultimately aiming for peace.
The Patriarch also highlighted the essential role of education in enhancing relations between nations and underlined the importance of friendship and cooperation between Greece and Turkey for regional peace and stability.
