Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa arrived in Harare, Zimbabwe on Friday, November 22 for a pastoral visit to the Holy Metropolis of Zimbabwe and Angola.
He was warmly welcomed at the international airport by Metropolitan Seraphim of Zimbabwe, as well as various dignitaries including ambassadors, consulate representatives, and community leaders.
The children greeted the Patriarch with flowers and Greek songs, filling the reception with joy and excitement.
In the evening, a dinner hosted by Greek Ambassador Anna Farrou honored the Patriarch, who expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and shared his visions for the future of Egypt and Africa.
The Patriarch highlighted the unity and diversity of his flock in Africa, praising their devotion to the God of Love and Hope, Jesus Christ.
The following day, the Patriarch visited and blessed the Missionary Center of St. Seraphim of Sarov, a model of mission work supported by the generous contributions of Mission supporters from Cyprus.
During a prayer session, the Patriarch prayed for peace in war-torn regions and urged the international community to address global challenges such as poverty and climate change.
Metropolitan Seraphim expressed love and congratulations to the Patriarch, who conducted baptisms, blessed a festive table, and distributed food to the faithful.
The Patriarch thanked Missionary Associations and expatriate organizations for their support in the Patriarchate’s work.
At noon, a luncheon hosted by the President of the Federation of Greek Communities honored the Patriarch.
