During the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Wood Green on Saturday, 1st February 2025, Deacon Gregory-Palamas Florides was ordained to the Holy Priesthood by Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain.
The ordination, which was attended by clergy and faithful, was a significant moment for the parishes in Wood Green and the entire Archdiocese.
Archbishop Nikitas was joined by Bishop Nikiphoros of Amorion, Bishops Maximos of Meletine, Raphael of Ilion, and Iakovos of Claudiopolis, as well as other clergy members including Archimandrites and Protopresbyters. Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and Consuls of Greece and Cyprus were also present.
Fr. Gregory, in his address, expressed gratitude to Archbishop Nikitas for his guidance and love, and pledged to serve the Church with faithfulness and humility. He also thanked his family, fellow clergy, and the faithful for their support.
Archbishop Nikitas offered words of wisdom to Fr. Gregory, emphasizing the importance of humility, faith, and dedication in his ministry. He encouraged Fr. Gregory to inspire and lead the faithful closer to Christ, and to serve with wisdom and compassion.
After the Divine Liturgy, Thomas Chiu was elevated to the Order of Reader, and the faithful offered their warm wishes to Fr. Gregory.
