Alfredo Theodorou was ordained to the Holy Diaconate and received the name Ambrosios by Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain during the Divine Liturgy at the Church of St Andrew the Apostle in Kentish Town on Saturday, 15th March 2025.
The ordination ceremony was attended by a congregation of faithful, signifying a significant moment for both the parish in Kentish Town and the Archdiocese as a whole.
Notable individuals present at the ordination included Archimandrite Vissarion Kokliotis, Oekonomos Dr Kristian Akselberg, Priest in Charge, Archdeacon George Tsourous, and Deacon John Brydges.
Deacon Ambrosios expressed his gratitude to Archbishop Nikitas for his guidance and support, as well as to his spiritual father, Fr. Kristian, and other clergy members who had a positive impact on his journey towards ministry.
He humbly asked for prayers from his family, friends, and supporters as he embarked on his sacred ministry, pledging to serve as a devoted servant of God and His people.
Archbishop Nikitas offered words of wisdom to Deacon Ambrosios, encouraging him to embrace his ministry with humility and faith, and to follow the example set by Fr. Kristian Akselberg in serving the Church.
Recognizing the responsibility of the diaconate, Archbishop Nikitas reminded Deacon Ambrosios of the importance of serving with devotion, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to Christ and His Church.
