On Sunday, June 16, 2024, Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain led the Divine Liturgy at the Parish of the Holy Trinity in Guilford, Surrey, on the occasion of the 318 Fathers of the 1st Oecumenical Council.
Presbyter Dr. Constantine Litvinenko, Priest-in-Charge, co-celebrated with the Archbishop, and Archdeacon Dr. George Tsourous also served.
Following the Liturgy, Archbishop Nikitas honored Fr. Constantine by elevating him to the rank of Oeconomos for his dedicated pastoral work and effective management of the parish. Dr. Sophia Litvinenko, the Choir Director, was also recognized for her service to the community and was awarded the Cross Medal of the Archdiocese.
Fr. Constantine, on behalf of the Parish Council and parishioners, expressed gratitude to the Archbishop for his continuous support and paternal love. A presentation of artworks by children from Sunday School, led by Anna Taranchenko, took place after the Liturgy, where the children gifted paintings to Archbishop Nikitas.
The close-knit community in Guilford organized a reception in honor of Archbishop Nikitas, providing an opportunity for parishioners to engage with him.
