Joined by members of the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (I.A.O.), including Mr. Maximos Charakopoulos and Counselor Mr. Kostas Mygdalis, the delegation engaged in constructive discussions to promote understanding and cooperation among different faith communities.
Dr. Al-Issa praised Archbishop Ieronymos for his dedication to global peace and highlighted the historical connections between Islam and Orthodoxy. He emphasized the importance of mutual visits in strengthening interfaith relations and combating hatred with messages of unity.
In response, Archbishop Ieronymos thanked Dr. Al-Issa for the meeting and stressed the need to translate shared values into actions. He underscored the role of religious leaders in advocating for peace and protecting vulnerable populations from the impacts of war.
Archbishop Ieronymos called for an immediate halt to hostilities and the initiation of peaceful dialogues to resolve conflicts. He emphasized the importance of unity and patience in navigating challenging times and commended the Greek government and organizations like the I.A.O. for their efforts in promoting peace.
