A medical team from EKAB (Emergency Aid Centre) accompanied him during the flight. Upon arrival in Elefsina, he was swiftly transferred to the hospital by ambulance for medical care.
According to Protothema.gr, the Archbishop’s condition worsened as the virus he was fighting developed into an infection. He also reportedly suffered from digestive system bleeding, necessitating immediate transfer to Athens for specialized medical attention.
Latest updates suggest that Archbishop Anastasios will be placed in a standard ward at Evangelismos Hospital, contrary to earlier reports indicating he may need intensive care.
