On Sunday, September 22, 2024, Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain visited the Greek Orthodox Community of St Andrew in Torquay for the first time.
During his visit, the Archbishop led Matins and celebrated the Divine Liturgy. He was joined by the Revd Presbyter Trayan Goranov, Priest-in-Charge, and the Revd Archdeacon George Tsourous. The congregation came together to worship in unity.
After the Divine Liturgy, Archbishop Nikitas appointed Arsenios Copleston as Reader and presented Mr. Robert Skrivanos with the Medal Cross of the Holy Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain in recognition of his 55 years of dedicated service and support to the Torquay parish.
Following the church service and a shared meal, Archbishop Nikitas engaged with the parishioners in a discussion, strengthening the bond between the clergy and the community.
The warm hospitality showcased the strong sense of community spirit, love, and unity within the diverse community of St Andrew in Torquay.
