On Sunday, December 15, 2024, a Divine Liturgy with Artoklasia (Blessing of the Bread) was celebrated in honor of Saint Hieromartyr Eleutherios, led by Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi.
The Divine Liturgy was attended by a group of pilgrims from Greece, organized by the Directors of Primary and Secondary Education of Western Thessaloniki, Mrs. Evangelia Moutsou and Mr. Christos Roupidis. The group included 350 educators from various parts of Greece, 32 students from four high schools in the Municipality of Oreokastro, and members of the choir from the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Oreokastro. The Deputy Mayor of Oreokastro was also in attendance.
Despite returning late from a visit to Thessaloniki, the Metropolitan made a point to attend the Divine Liturgy to show his appreciation for the visitors and their pilgrimage.
