Msgr. Antonio Mattiazzo, Bishop Emeritus of Padua, Italy, Visits Romanian Patriarchate
On Wednesday, June 12, Bishop Emeritus Antonio Mattiazzo of Padua, Italy, paid a visit to the Romanian Patriarchate, where he was welcomed by Patriarch Daniel of Romania at the “Patriarch Teoctist” Hall of the Patriarchal Residence.
During the meeting, Bishop Mattiazzo recalled the strong relations he has had with Romanian Orthodox theologians, mentioning the scholarships provided to Romanian students and researchers to study in Padua, a renowned cultural and university center in Italy.
Expressing his gratitude towards Patriarch Daniel, Bishop Mattiazzo highlighted their fruitful relationship in theology, spirituality, and mission, which has facilitated various meetings and exchanges between the Roman Catholic Church and the Romanian Orthodox Church.
He also emphasized the ongoing support for Romanian Orthodox theologians in Italy and the welcoming of Romanian immigrants in Western countries, showcasing the bond of unity and brotherly love between the two Churches and peoples.
