The First International Conference of Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate addresses the increasing religious persecution, oppression, and violence faced by humanity. This conference aims to coordinate global action in defense of religious freedom and human rights.
Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew spoke to the Archons of the Great Church of Christ via video at the conference’s opening, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts and support in achieving success. The establishment of an official global organization of Archons was unanimously approved by the 292 assembled Archons from 22 countries.
Dr. Antonis Lymberakis, Archon Megas Aktouarios, Commander of the Archons of America, highlighted the significant role of Archons in defending the Ecumenical Patriarchate and promoting human rights and religious freedom.
Metropolitan Elder Emmanuel of Chalcedon called on the Archons to engage with the global community and uphold peace, interreligious dialogue, justice, human rights, and environmental preservation.
Archbishop Elpidophoros of America stressed the importance of connection with the Mother Church and the responsibility to shepherd the faithful entrusted by the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
Athanasios Martinos, Archon Exarchos, President of the Brotherhood of Archons “Panagia the Pamakaristos”, praised the longstanding influence and significance of the Patriarchate in bridging cultures and religions.
Chrisostomos Perentes, Archon Aktouarios, President of the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Canada, commended the initiative for the International Conference, highlighting its role in renewing commitment to defending the rights of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
