On Monday, May 20, 2024, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew led the Great Vespers in the afternoon to celebrate the feast of Constantine and Helen at the Church of the Great Community of Stavrodromi.
Metropolitans Hilarion of Winnipeg and Bila Tserkva, Yevstratiy, Bishop Avraamios of Borispil, along with Protopresbyter Eugene Pentiuc, Dean of the Theological School of the Holy Cross in Boston, and a group of teachers, students, and believers from Constantinople attended the service.
Metropolitan Andreas of Forty Churches welcomed the Ecumenical Patriarch to the Community of Stavrodromi.
In his address, the Ecumenical Patriarch emphasized the importance of Saints Constantine and Helen, calling for their intercession for peace in the Middle East and Ukraine. He also highlighted the significance of the Holy Cross and the values of love and sacrifice it represents.
The Ecumenical Patriarch also welcomed professors and students from the Theological School of the Holy Cross, who were visiting Constantinople as part of the “Pilgrimage of Saint Helen” program.
He expressed gratitude to the Metropolitan of Forty Churches and the Ephorate Committee of the Community for their dedication to the Christian community and acknowledged the supporters of the Community’s work.
