Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain participated in an Interfaith Prayer Service for Peace in Ukraine on Monday, 25th February 2024. The event brought together religious leaders, dignitaries, and members of various faith communities at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in London.
The service was a moving gathering that united voices of faith in a plea for peace, justice, and healing for those affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine. Archbishop Nikitas led prayers during the service, emphasizing the importance of faith in times of crisis and calling for solidarity with those facing hardship.
Prayers in multiple languages were offered during the service, highlighting the shared commitment of different faith traditions to peace and reconciliation. Archbishop Nikitas also had discussions with The Rt Hon Priti Patel MP and Faith Minister Lord Wajid Khan of Burnley on the role of religious communities in promoting peace and humanitarian support.
