The Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania has expressed solidarity and offered prayers for the health of Pope Francis after reports of his illness.
Metropolitan Joan of Korça, Acting Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës, and All Albania, conveyed a message of support on behalf of the Orthodox Church of Albania in an official statement to the Vatican.
“Upon hearing news of the illness of His Holiness Pope Francis, the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania extends solidarity and prays for his swift and complete recovery so he can continue his important work for the Catholic Church and its followers worldwide,” the statement read.
Quoting from the Psalms, the statement emphasized faith in divine healing: “O Lord my God, I cried out to You, and You healed me” (Psalm 30:2).
