Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia welcomed members of the Serbian Association “Karađorđe” from Herceg Novi to the Patriarchal Palace in Belgrade today.
During a heartfelt discussion, the guests shared about their efforts in preserving Serbian cultural heritage, tradition, and history in Herceg Novi, Boka Kotorska, and across Montenegro. They highlighted their role in upholding historical memory and safeguarding Serbian folklore and traditional music.
Celebrating Serbian Cultural Heritage
As part of the visit, members of the association performed two traditional Serbian melodies from the coastal region, accompanied by the gusle, a symbolic and historical instrument of Serbian heritage.
Patriarch Porfirije expressed his gratitude for their visit, applauding their dedication to preserving Serbian identity and cultural heritage. He emphasized the significance of such initiatives in strengthening spiritual and cultural bonds between Serbia and Montenegro.
