A memorial service was held Wednesday evening before the body of the late Archbishop Anastasios of Albania by Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria, Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem, and Archbishop George of Cyprus.
Senior hierarchs and clergy from around the world continue to arrive at the Holy Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ to attend the funeral service of the late Archbishop.
On Wednesday evening, Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria and Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem, accompanied by their entourages, arrived at the Cathedral and led a memorial prayer before the body of Archbishop Anastasios.
This morning at 11:00 a.m. local time (12:00 p.m. Greek time), following the Divine Liturgy, the funeral service will take place at the Holy Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Tirana.
The ceremony will be honored by the presence of the leaders of the Orthodox Church, led by the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. Also present will be Archbishop George of Cyprus, Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem, Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria, Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria, and Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece.
Also present will be Metropolitan Nifon of Târgoviște, representing the Patriarchate of Romania, and Metropolitan George of Guinea, representing the Patriarchate of Alexandria in Athens.
