Consul General of the Republic of Lebanon in Alexandria, Abeer Ali, visited the Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, where she met with Patriarch Theodoros II.
Also in attendance were Metropolitan Ignatios of Antananarivo and Northern Madagascar, Metropolitan Panteleimon of Ptolemais, Secretary General of the Holy and Sacred Synod, Metropolitan Petros of Aksum, and Archimandrite Damaskinos, Patriarchal Commissioner of Alexandria.
The Patriarch expressed gratitude for the visit and extended wishes for peace in Lebanon, the Middle East, and the world. He acknowledged the election of President Joseph Aoun in Lebanon as a positive step towards political stability.
He highlighted the Alexandrian Church’s role in supporting the Lebanese Orthodox community in Africa and emphasized the Patriarchate’s commitment to humanitarian aid.
The Consul General commended the Patriarchate’s philanthropic work in Africa and thanked the Patriarch for his prayers for Lebanon. A private meeting followed, discussing mutual interests and exchanging gifts.
