With deep sadness, we received the news of the passing from this world of our beloved brother in Christ, the ever-commemorated Anastasios, Archbishop of Tirana, Durres, and All Albania—a renowned figure in contemporary Orthodoxy and a close friend of the Romanian Orthodox Church. On behalf of the hierarchs, clergy, and faithful of the Romanian Orthodox Church, we extend our sincere condolences to the members of the Holy Synod and the entire Orthodox Church of Albania. At the same time, we pray to our Lord Jesus Christ, Who is the Resurrection and the Life (John 11:25), to grant rest to the soul of Archbishop Anastasios in the dwellings of His saints, where there is no pain, sorrow, or sighing, but life everlasting. May his memory be eternal from generation to generation! † DANIEL
Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church
