Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia warmly welcomed children from Kosovo and Metohija on January 21, 2025, at the Parish Hall of the Saint Sava Church in Belgrade.
The Patriarch organized a festive luncheon for his special guests from Orahovac, Osojan, Velika Hoča, Goraždevac, Leposavić, and the region of Kosovsko Pomoravlje.
“I had hoped, as you understand better than anyone, to celebrate my feast day in Kosovo and Metohija. It was my desire and plan. However, after discussions with Bishop Teodosije, Father Sava, and other members from there, we decided that this time you would join us in Belgrade for the celebration. Hopefully, next year, we will commemorate it at the Patriarchate of Peć,” Patriarch Porfirije expressed to the children from Kosovo and Metohija.
“Today, alongside you, are Bishop Teodosije, Bishop Ilarion, Prince Filip, Princess Danica Karađorđević, as well as actors, musicians, and artists: Ivan Bosiljčić, Viktor Savić, Aleksandra Radović, Andrej Šepetkovski, Pavlina Radovanović, Vlado Posavec, Mina Lazarević, Ivan Ivanov, and his daughter Kalina. We are thrilled that you also have accomplished representatives here, not only in karate and judo but also in music. Your rendition of the hymn was truly beautiful. Thank you,” Patriarch Porfirije added.
