The Orthodox Church honors today two Great ascetics, Macarius of Egypt, also known as Macarius the Great, and Macarius of Alexandria, who lived in the 4th century AD in Egypt on Mt. Nitria. They were renowned for their ascetic lifestyles and deep faith, performing miracles through the power of God, including raising the dead. Their lives serve as a spiritual guide for monks and all faithful Christians, although it is uncertain if their writings were authored by them or their followers.
In the Gospel, Jesus healed ten men with leprosy, showcasing divine miracles that continue to occur in our daily lives. God provides us with abundant blessings and unique abilities, ensuring that we have all we need. Each individual is gifted with special talents by Almighty God.
